I am a research scientist at Advanced Rendering Technology (ART) Team in Intel, where he is working on graphics research. Before joining in Intel. I worked on ray tracing, advanced computer graphics, real-time rendering, reconfigurable processor, and hardware algorithms for mobile GPUs at Samsung Advanced Intstitute of Technology as a principal research scientist. I also led a R&D team which was developing a new ray tracing GPU system at SAIT. I received a Ph. D. and MS in computer science at Yonsei University, where I researched on graphics architecture, simulation framework, and parallel rendering on GPU clusters. While studying in computer science, I also worked on scientific volume visualization during my internship in National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST). I received BS in computer science and engineering at Inha University, where his interests were real time graphics and computer architecture. My primary research interests are ray tracing, real-time rendering, global illumination, and machine learning.

- September 2019: Our short paper on a new programming model got accepted from SIGGRAPH Asia 2019. It will be my first publication at Intel. See you in Brisbane!
- September 2017: I joined Intel and will keep doing graphics research. Wish me good luck!
- August 2015: I presented our hardware multithreading paper at HPG 2015 in L.A.
- February 2014: I gave a talk on architecture for mobile ray tracing at scalable graphics/geometry lab in KAIST.
- July 2013: I participated to the SIGGRAPH course on ray tracing.

- July 2013: I presented our ray tracing hardware paper at HPG 2013 in Anaheim, it is the first full paper of our work.

Mobile devices such as PDA, HPC, cellular phone are dominant platforms for next-generation portable media computing environment in these days. Up to date, it has been impossible to run 3D graphics application on mobile devices due to their lots of computing resources limitaion. We designed the 3D graphics accelerator for mobile devices, emDavid, based on ARM1022E processor, and implemented on Xilinks Virtex II FPGA-board in coorperated with Samsung Electronics. I developed the graphics API compatible with Opengl ES and device drivers for emDavid.
