The Lab aims to research and develop the state-of-the-art design methodologies associated with intelligent design and optimization in areas of mechanical, aeronautical, electro-mechanical, and structural systems.
Soft computing techniques are main topics in research. Such techniques are currently applied to multidisciplinary, multiobjective optimization and probabilistic design methods such as robust optimization, reliability based design optimization in the context of quality engineering design. Relevant design principles such as design for six sigma (DFSS), ecoproduct design for sustainability, axiomatic design, quality function deployment (QFD), TRIZ, etc. are also actively studied for the development of an integrated design framework.
A promising student who is interested in computer programming and advanced design engineering can contact the Lab for his or her future academic achievements.
