About CSE
이 프로그램은 계산과학에 기반을 두고 자연과학, 공학, 의료영상등 다양한 응용분야를 선택할 수 있는 학제간 융합 과정으로서 수리모델링, 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션, 분석, 시각화 등을 포함하는 과학계산을 통합적이고 체계적으로 수행할 수 있는 고급인력 양성을 목표로 합니다.
The Department of Computational Science and Engineering (CSE) at Yonsei University is the only one of its kind in Korea. It is a new graduate department established in 2009, which focuses on computation oriented multidisciplinary area combining the traditional fields of engineering - electrical, mechanical, biomedical, and material sciences - with the knowledge and techniques of computational and applied mathematics. The department is founded by the World Class University (WCU) project fully funded by the Korean government.
The CSE involves the invention, implementation, testing, and application of algorithm and software to solve large-scale scientific and engineering problems. We aim to train the new generation of computational engineers and scientists. Our programs focus on modeling-computer simulation-visualization, based on applied mathematics. CSE provides balanced degree programs, designed to enable each student to find optimum solutions to complex systems occurring in engineering problems, using various areas of applied mathematics.
산학간, 학제간 협동 과정 운영: 최첨단 기술개발과 제품생산의 복잡성은 물리적 실험과정이 장기간의 시간과 경제적인 고비용을 요구하게 되어, 정확한 수학적 모델을 세우고 최적화(optimization) 과정, 효과적인 계산방법 사용, 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션 (computer simulation) 등을 통한 비용절감이 절실하게 필요하다. 급변하는 산업계 흐름과 기술발전을 체계적으로 반영하고, 산학간, 학제간의 연구를 활성화하기 위하여 산업계 연구원과 공동 논문 지도를 한다.
* 의료 영상기술의 분야에서 모델링과 수치시뮬레이션은 최첨단 의료 영상기술의 발전에 중요한 역할을 한다.
* 대기 오염물질의 이류 확산, 지하수 오염, 유조선 충돌에 의한 원유 유출· 확산 등은 수치모의 실험을 통해 예측할 수 있다.
* 발파관련 여러 현상을 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통해 시공 시 발생할 수 있는 시행착오를 최소화 하는데 활용할 수 있다.
